Placeta de la Font 11, 17820 Banyoles, BANYOLES, SPAIN
Housed in an interesting old building, the Archaeology Museum explores the history of the Banyoles area from prehistoric times until the 19th Century.
On display is a copy of a pre-Neanderthal jaw that was found in 1887. The bone is said to be that of a forty old woman and is about 80,000 years old. Other archaeological material from prehistoric caves is on display as well as Iberian finds and artefacts from the Monastery of Sant Esteve.
